Operations Update

Summertime means Construction Season.  The landfill is in the process of adding additional gas wells to collect the methane generated from the decaying garbage. As you may recall, since 2003 our landfill has been extracting methane gas and using it to power generators that produce electricity.  As we’ve grown smarter about this green energy initiative, and as Waste Management has expanded its fleet of CNG-powered collection vehicles, we recognized an opportunity to make our own fuel from landfill gas while also reducing greenhouse gas emissions.   As we install these new gas extraction wells, there is the possibility of odors.  Please be assured we are working diligently to minimize the odors during the construction.  If you have any questions, please contact Lisa Doughty at 281-647-5546.  Thank you.

Cover Your Load

The Texas Transportation Code, as well as Waste Management, requires vehicles be properly equipped to prevent loose materials from escaping or blowing away. Waste Management charges landfill customers a fee if their trailers or trucks are not securely tarped. Please view this flyer for tips on how to properly tarp your trailer or truck.
