Operations Update: Construction at Atascocita Landfill
The landfill is in the process of adding additional gas wells to collect methane generated from the decaying garbage. Since 2003, the Atascocita Landfill has extracted methane gas as a source of energy. At our site, the collected methane gas is purified at an onsite RNG (Renewable Natural Gas) plant which we can use to power our CNG trucks.
As we install the new gas extraction wells, there is a possibility of odors. Please know we are working diligently to minimize the potential odors during the construction. If you have any questions, please contact Jenna Armstrong Bridges at 281-505-8378. Thank you.

Waste Management Atascocita Recycling and Disposal Facility ("Atascocita Landfill") is a municipal solid waste landfill operating under the strict regulations of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. The landfill is permitted to take municipal solid waste, special waste, and various types of non-hazardous industrial waste. Atascocita Landfill is approximately 800 acres with 310 acres permitted for waste disposal.

The Texas Transportation Code, as well as Waste Management, requires vehicles be properly equipped to prevent loose materials from escaping or blowing away. Waste Management charges landfill customers a fee if their trailers or trucks are not securely tarped. Please view this flyer for tips on how to properly tarp your trailer or truck.
